So, whats been going on?
I decided not to enter any journals for a while, since theres been a lot of personal stuff going on in my life. And as someone once put it, who would honestly read and give a damn about your emo ranting? So in response to that, I held off report anything, waiting for something good and big to happen. But I might as well wait for money to grow on trees at this rate. Its been a month and a half and counting.
Why not report on Christmas? That is because Christmas Eve I lost my job again.
However, my family and I have made the best of Christmas; despite it being the most fiscally stringent holiday weve had since 2006, due to two funerals earlier that year. Moving on
Hurrah for Spirit Tracks. Hurrah for good friends and correspondents too (even when I screwed up Christmas and New Year week). I made an effort, chiefly for the sake of my two nieces who were visiting, but frankly, Im not one for festivities; I pretty much slept through New Year. Oh well.
Im pleased to report Im finally over the festive blues and Im more or less normal again. Im still kind of manic, so one minute Im on a high from watching Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and yet Im quite low because of well, a lot of things. Family, finance, freezing weather (or for those living in the Southern Hemisphere, unbearably hot weather) Ah well.
The general artwork thing is a little ambiguous. I appreciate the suggestions for fan-art, and it gives me great practice on the body and posturing front. Be that as it may be, I want my art to work for me and not the other way around. I apologise for the close-minded bullheadedness if I suddenly veer away in a completely different direction. Or do more of the same. Im undecided. Artworks I post up publicly these days are generally spur-of-the-moment ideas. Some work, others dont. Its an ongoing learning crusade. I still need to push myself and not end up in a rut, like last year.
On the DA front, the lack of new original artwork is purely because Im still experimenting. I feel theres a less accepting eye for furry-themed artwork, so Ive decided to play it safe and stick with not-too-heavily-stylised fan art. I definitely still want to do more human stuff, but I have nothing worth posting up specifically for DA, just yet. We thank you for your tolerance!
And I think thats about it, without me rambling incessantly after about 2 hours editing and re-editing.
To close, heres to hoping that the 2nd decade of the 21st Century works out better than the 1st one. My thanks to all those whove commented or faved or noted, or a combination of all three really. Although I may not always show it, I really do appreciate it.
Best wishes.

HIP HOT DIGIDY DOG
We started Season 1 here shortly before Christmas but I was severely disappointed; Humungo's introduction was boring. The whole thing to me feels like an animated version of Smallville or Roswell, even down to the half-whispered dialogue and soporific music. Plus, I don't like many of the character designs. I thought Rath would save my opinion, but as soon as I heard John Di Maggio's voice (Futurama, Kim Possible) spill out, I gave up. Plus, that's a whole two seasons away in UK airtime. Sorry, but it's a no.
