Starting Something Else - Pt31 by aokamidu Starting Something Else - Pt31 by aokamidu
Depending on how the composition works out, the next page could be the final one of this series so far.

It's been a while since I've last done a transformation scene, so yes, I'm a bit rusty. I'm not happy about how quickly O.J. recovered post-transformation but I didn't want unneccessary padding out. I've also had to rewrite what O.J. said, so yeah, there is an inconsistency between this moment and the memory of this moment happening in UEIE pt34. ^^; People's memories aren't perfect, really. And I'm just a bit miffed there wasn't room for any sound effects without crowding the whole page, but at least I stuck to a (mainly) consistent colour scheme this time on the whole page, unlike, I think it was SOSE Pt 15?.

Anyway, enough rambling from me. Enjoy!

Probably the most impressive page out of them all, due to Oust's intimidating appearance. But i have to say, you draw his eyes in such a fashion where they reflect a tenderness that overrides his monstrous appearance, and enables you to feel sympathy and relatable.

Plus, what happened to him having a six inch gasping hole in his chest, plot inconsistency's!

And there was me thinking it was common knowledge that werewolves heal fast.  Shows what I know.

Anyway, thank you for your comments.  This was really a side-project and at the time of drawing this, I was struggling to hold down a full time job and commissions on the side.  So, no, I'm not perfect.  But I'd rather admit my flaws and mistakes and get something out there as a human being who just wants to tell a story, than end up doing cold and perfect works all the time.  That's just how I operate.  Sorry.

Don't worry, the feeling to create something of perfection is a horrible curse to retain; as everything you create, is unfinished and never in its best state. There is no end to perfection, and that's what blogs me down into a state of stagnant and leads to the degradation of creativity and the will to continue on a project. No matter what classification you fall under, people like you at-least retain the self preservation to maintain pride and remain passionate in your works.

Funny thought, I'm arguing plot inconsistency with the creator.

Real nice Kami... I love the transformation, BUT it's the weird thing... he starts with a gentle face ... then the ROUGH TRANSFORMATION and THEN back to being gentle. SORRY, just saying... his transformation looks angry, but he's not angry or anything...

The way I've written is that the transformation is always going to painful - that's why there's the angry face, something that can't be helped in Oust Joust's case; it's rather like the equivalent of stubbing your toe; no matter what, you're always going to flinch. The pacing is bad but I planned to get this comic in under 35 pages at most and I didn't want to add on more pages than neccessary; it was only meant to be a quick transformation but I didn't like the cheap idea of him suddenly snapping his fingers and poof! They're not magicians.

I felt it was more important to show that it doesn't matter what form he is in, Oust-Joust is still the same character, and he really wants to have his fiance (future wife) come back to him.

It's alright, it's your comic after all and you do have an explanation for it after all.

Big blue eyes full of feeling. That panel is superb. Poor Fauxjima. Obviously this won't be neatly resolved in the next (last) page. So, will there be a sequel to this, carrying on the story and tying up the loose ends? I can imagine Tim and Tom showing up to school all shredded. "Oh, boys. Really. You've been fighting monsters again before school? This will NOT do, I'm afraid. Honestly!"

Those big blue eyes have such tenderness. Poor guy. Ugh, this won't end well. Obviously Faujima won't be returned to normal by next page. So, there'll be a sequel to this eventually, showing how they straightened out this mess? Transformation looked great to me! Tim and Tom'll need to dash home and change, hee hee, showing up in class with shredded clothes: "We, uh...fell down, running to catch the bus." "Yeah. He fell first, then I did. Outch."

Thanks for the compliment but nahhh... I've not looked at any Marvel comics physically for a while now but judging from the previews and such, it's all bland looking realsim now. ^^;

I understand too, but I picked up an issue of Amazing Spider-Man that has the Webhead having those trippy mourning dreams after his boss's wife gets killed..
