Starting Something Else - Pt35 by aokamidu Starting Something Else - Pt35 by aokamidu
And here we are with the final page for this story.

Open-ended, yes, but at the time of writing and drawing this, I wasn't entirely sure if I was going to continue it - even now, I'm not too sure. But it was a fun run whilst it lasted and I'm glad to have finally gotten back on to doing comics - it's much more challenging doing comics than doing one-offs all the time; and a lot more satisfying seeing myself progress over time.

Regardless of whatever happens, thank you for reading!

WOW! What a cliff-hanger! Really well-done, dynamic art and coloring, touching, and new mysteries half-revealed. This was a lot of fun to read! Of course now we're all left biting our fingernails wondering "What happens next? How do they save Fauxjima? Who is Magico's master? And will Tim and Tom come up with a decent excuse for being late to school?" Anyway, it was a blast! Thanks!

I really enjoyed this comic, the raw rough texture of the characters makes them feel real and interesting. It is nice to see both a great comic and a good story with so much individuality.

Suffice to say I really enjoy reading your comics and I hope you make many more quality works!

So this guy is the pack leader?

Oust-Joust is yes, the Alpha (pack leader), with Whiteout and Nightshade as the Betas (sort of deputies) and Tetchy and Mouthwash at the bottom, though Tetchy refuses to acknowledge being an omega.

You should save some of the serious stuff for when you get paid for it, till then, draw and write what you like. I like how you can barely see Oust's tears, shows how well stable and heartbroken he is. And I am envious how well you added texture to the backgrounds in the first and last panel.

Thanks for the comment - I'm not really in a position (both financially and physically speaking) to take the professional option as of yet, so all this is essentially practice for when that day comes.

Funnily enough, you wouldn't believe how long it took me to get Oust-Joust's expression right, because originally, it was too girly; call it a sympton of being into shoujou (girly) anime (though ironically, I've been watching a very shonen - boys' action - one from '06 recently).

At any rate, it's chiefly a mixture of Corel Painter and Photoshop CS5 on the first and last panels, though the background for that last one proved rather nightmarish to render. Awkward angle or something. Alas, many thanks.
