Unknown Evil in England Pt 43

Original commentary: Pa-ku-ku-pan! At long last, we hit the end of this escapade, with the long-held secret exposed. Took two years to get here (Pt 1 began on 7 October 2007).

Some may feel let down by the ending, but this was actually the part I wanted to illustrate first of all, way back in 2007. The end of this project was initially triggered mainly by the very last frame of Full Metal Alchemist episode 11 (dubbed as The Other Elric Brothers, Pt 1) before the credits roll in, one of my favourite scenes from the first anime adaptation.

It was later agreed a long-term friend of mine would pick up the next part of this project. UEIE originally served as an experimental introduction to a series I’d been developing casually developing over the past decade. Something I’d like to explore again one day, but probably not to this degree. I pretty much grew despondent with doing this long term, but hey, I’ll put it down to experience.

There are far too many people to thank for their support and encouragement as UEIE progressed, both friends old and new, long-term or short. But it was a really good experience, and I don’t regret it at all. If anything, it’s a nice visual marker for me to see how I’ve progressed beyond my college and university years. For the better, or for the worse truly remains to be seen.

Regardless, my sincerest thanks to those who’ve followed this through to the end. This took a while to draft, and was coloured over a 25-hour weekend spree, a combination of Corel Painter X and Photoshop CS3.
